Yangbo Kim
Head of the Environmental Conservation Bureau - Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea
Yangbo Kim is an environmental expert who has been promoting natural environment management and policy planning in local governments for 25 years. In particular, while managing the natural environment of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, he played a crucial role in designating and maintaining the World Biosphere Reserve in 2002, World Natural Heritage Site in 2007, and Global Geopark in 2020. Since 2016, he had managed the environment of Jeju as the head of the Environmental Conservation Bureau of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. He is currently seconded to UNESCO as the MAB Secretariat to promote environmental cooperation between the Jeju government and UNESCO.
